Our Beliefs

What We Believe

We Are One in Christ

At Springfield Lutheran High School, our life together is centered on the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Bible, God’s inspired and inerrant Word, is the foundation for all we do, guiding our learning, our relationships, and our service.

We believe in the saving grace of Jesus Christ and the promise of eternal life. This gift, freely given through the suffering, death, and resurrection of our Savior, defines our faith. SLHS teaches the Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther, whose work helped spark the 16th-century Reformation. These teachings can be summarized in three guiding truths: Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Scripture Alone—all received freely from God, not earned by our own efforts.

We value the power of a caring, Christ-centered community. We seek to ensure that every student, teacher, and family member is known, honored, and encouraged at SLHS. We support one another with grace, acknowledge our failings, and seek forgiveness, reconciliation, and renewal through Christ.

We cultivate a school environment where students grow in faith, serve others, and lead with character. Through intentional focus on Christian values, our students learn to live out their faith in word and deed, following Jesus’ example in acts of service and compassion.

Grounded in God’s Word, we uphold Biblical truths that shape how we live:

  • God created man and woman in His image, and He calls us to honor His design in our relationships and families.
  • Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to glorify God in how we live.
  • Life is sacred from beginning to end, and we seek to support and protect all people as God’s creation.
  • We pursue lives of integrity, honesty, and Christian character in thought, word, and action.

At SLHS, our mission is to help every student affirm their identity in Christ, strengthen their relationship with Him, and glorify God in all they do. We recognize that everything we are and have belongs to Him, and we strive to live each day in gratitude and service to our Lord.

Ephesians 2:8-10 NIV
