During their last week of school, our SLHS students participated in a special Capstone Expedition Learning trip to St. Louis!
Along the way, students attended a concert by the Ava MOtets featuring SLHS student Aria Yoo on violin. Then, special accommodations were in store as the students were able to experience dorm life at
Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.
During the trip, students visited the LCMS International Center, worshipped in chapel, recorded a podcast at
KFUO Radio, met LCMS President Matthew Harrison, explored the Concordia Historical Institute museum, and served alongside Christian Friends of New Americans (CFNA) through a renovation project supporting their ministry efforts. Special thanks to Mrs. Amy Zeigler, CFNA Director of Community Engagement, for directing our service work at the CFNA facility.
Of course- there was also time to stop for some ice cream at Ted Drewes, and visit the St. Louis Arch Museum!
It was a busy, but incredible trip. What a meaningful opportunity for learning, service, fellowship, and experiencing the wider Lutheran community! HUGE thank you to our parent chaperones, as well as Mr. Straw, Mr. Zeigler and Mrs. Dorris for making the trip possible!
